Snow

Well not a whole lot has been going on lately, Sunday we had the most beautiful day I think I have seen since I have been up here! The sun was out, it was warm, and it felt gooooood! Its amazing how much you actually take seeing the sun for granted when you see it all the time, but just like it always does, it is now back to raining and snowing. I will try to get some snow pictures tomorrow of the area if I have a chance to get off of the boat. I can not wait untill summer gets here and we have nice days all the time, I hear the first day for cruise ships is May 5th, so that will be a nice change to actually see normal people up here. Im not saying that Alaska people arent normal, but things up here are noticably different compared to the real world (the lower 48) we actually have a nic name for our town up here, and its Narnia, after the make believe world we all read about as kids. Its sort of a running joke around the boat, and the whole boat has caught on to it. Alaska is sort of its own little world up here, and you can only really understand it if you experience it... Hope everyone is having a good week, half way to the weekend! Take care!

hey tom!

i'm glad you've found narnia ... if only it was as simple as walking through a wardrobe and not several hr flight. the photos of the coast guard boat are pretty sweet! if you have opportunities to go to iceland, don't pass them up ... also, if you see some communist russians at the north pole, send them my regards! i heard you get paid to bake cakes? is this true? if so, where do I sign up? wish you well! stay away from crevasses and hungry wildlife ... let me know if you ever dock in the NW area when you're boats not broken!

Hey Tom! Glad you got sun and warmth! We are starting to get some Spring like weather, I hope to see the grass turn green and see the farmers in the fields soon! I can't wait to get up there, I will be checking on flights and stuff soon and will get with you before I make reservations. Love ya! Dad
